About

Huntly & Districts was established in 1973.

We meet on the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Huntly RSA, where we network and have dinner, followed by either a guest speaker or a workshop.
Meeting starts at 5.30pm followed by dinner at 7pm.

Our annual activities are as follows:
1) Assist Huntly RSA ladies with flowers for Anzac Day commemorations
2) Provide up to $1000 towards study grants
3) Provide $100 for outstanding female students at each of Huntly College and Te Kauwhata College
4) Support local women’s and community groups i.e. Huntly Ladies Allsorts, Cancer Society, Friends of Kimihia, Huntly Bowling Club
5) Donate to the Nepal Literacy Fund
6) Fundraising High Tea to raise funds for local resthome and hospital.
7) Candlelighting dinner and ceremony to promote networking and co-operation with women from all walks of life and ethnicities.

Huntly & Districts actively work on Keys To Achievement awards and in 2017 had 10 members gain either bronze, silver or gold keys.
We invite successful women to speak at many of our monthly meetings.
Our club is active in civil and political life within our community, with two members as elected members on the local district council, two members on a local Resthome Board of Trustees and
another two members actively involved in an NGO which supports the Resthome. Many of our members are active within other community groups.
We contribute to BPWNZ’s role of advocacy for women through supporting our club lawyer member who assists BPWNZ as a Taskforce member with preparing submissions for government and another
member who is VP Issues for BPWNZ and has an active role in advocating for change. A large number of our members attend the annual BPWNZ conference each year and we support resolutions for change.

2017 saw us hold a very successful Northern Regional conference.
