For the next four weeks, in the lead up to International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, we are going to be profiling women entrepreneurs from history in order to plot a way forward to the future. Women like C J Walker, Elizabeth Arden, Mary Kay Ash and more – all women that today’s generations may have missed in the clamour for the Richard Branson and Steve Job’s stories of the present.

In the week of March 8th we will also be profiling women of today – entrepreneurs from the Middle East to Australia from North America to India – and yes, there is a famous Hollywood actress who I sat down with recently for an exclusive interview.

But, to give you an idea of what we will be publishing we begin with the story of Madam C J Walker – please share with your networks -@!Entrepreneur-from-history-Madam-C-J-Walker-/c1fdu/8D77D821-7729-4C6D-80A9-D1EB78C6BCE4 – Here is a snippet and remember, wherever you are do as much as you can to empower women and girls into business and opportunity:

“C J Walker was a proud black woman born in Delta, Louisiana in 1867 to parents who were slaves on local cotton plantations. She was the first child in her family born into freedom after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. So, how was it that this incredible woman, with all of the odds stacked against her, become one of the most successful woman entrepreneurs of the 20th century? Click the link above and take a look”
