About the event
Wāhine Collective is a community action in Tāmaki Makaurau is a partnership with Te Ohu Whakawhanaunga Tāmaki Makaurau with representation from civil society and other groups including Business & Professional Women New Zealand, Māori Women's Welfare League, Aotearoa Women's Watch - New Zealand, National Council of Women Auckland, and Living Wage.
No cost to attend and light kai will be provided. Koha invited.
This is a tamariki friendly event - toys and activities will be provided.

Why is 19 September sigificant for women in Aotearoa?
On 19 September 1893, when the governor, Lord Glasgow, signed a new Electoral Act into law, New Zealand became the first self-governing country in the world to grant the right to vote to all adult women. At the time this was a truly radical change: many other democracies did not allow women to vote until decades later. More info...
