BPW International President Diana Barragan Remembers

It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Faye Gardiner.

On behalf of BPW International, and on my own behalf, please accept our deepest and most heartfelt condolences. We extend our sincere sympathy to you, to the members of BPW New Zealand, BPW Tamaki, and especially to Faye's family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Faye devoted many years of her life to strengthening BPW, both nationally and internationally. As Past President of BPW New Zealand and Chair of the BPW International Health Standing Committee, she combined professional excellence with visionary leadership and a deep commitment to improving the lives of women. Her work in advancing women's health, including the international health policies she helped establish and her advocacy before the World Health Organization, leaves a lasting legacy that continues to benefit women around the world.

Within BPW New Zealand, Faye's leadership was equally remarkable. Through initiatives such as the Keys to Achievement Program, the Club Presidents Leadership Forum, the Governance Network, and the Margery Toulson Scholarship, she created opportunities that continue to develop and empower women leaders today.

Those of us who had the privilege of knowing Faye will remember not only her remarkable achievements but also her generosity, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to the ideals of BPW. She embodied our mission through a lifetime of service and inspired countless women across our global Federation.

Although we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life exceptionally well lived—a life of leadership, service, friendship, and commitment to the advancement of women. Faye's legacy will remain an enduring part of BPW International's history, and she will be remembered with profound gratitude and respect.

Please convey our heartfelt condolences to her family and to all our BPW sisters in New Zealand. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow.

With deepest sympathy,

Diana
