Obituary - Sylvia Perry

A Light That Guided Us All

Today, we bow our heads in mourning and lift our hearts in gratitude as we honor the life and legacy of our dear Sylvia G. Perry, BPW International President (1996–1999), who has passed into eternal rest.

Sylvia was more than a leader—she was a beacon of strength, wisdom, and vision. Her dedication to empowering women across the globe, her unwavering belief in equality, and her deep love for BPW left a legacy that will continue to shape our path forward. Through her words, her work, and her presence, she inspired us to lead with purpose and to serve with grace.

Let us honor her memory by carrying forward the torch she once held high. Let us continue to build the future she believed in—a future of opportunity, dignity, and justice for every woman and girl.

We invite every BPW sister around the world to take a moment to remember Sylvia—her leadership, her kindness, and the indelible mark she leaves in our hearts and in our history.

May her soul rest in peace, and may we always walk in the light of her example.

With respect and deep gratitude,

Diana Barragán

President
