President Janet Dec 2025

Tēnā koutou katoa – Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours. Let us hope

that 2026 brings peace to our world.

Our thoughts are with the families of the victims caught up in the Bondi Beach shootings at

what was to be a joyous family occasion – Chanukah by the Sea. Not only the Jewish

community but all sectors in our country and across the world have been shocked and

saddened by the actions of these men.

Australians are queuing to donate much needed blood and plasma. At this time of year, it is

even harder for those who have no employment or a roof over their heads. Spare a thought

for those less fortunate than yourselves. We should not wait for a tragedy to occur before

we think to donate and look for ways we can help others in need.

I hope you can enjoy a break over the summer holiday season. I wish you good cheer and

enjoyment with families and friends. Stay safe and positive. Let us not forget to be kind.

Ngā Mihi nui

President Janet
