Founded

BPW Franklin was formed by group of local women in August 1984, who saw the important work the Federation of Business and Professional Women New Zealand had been undertaking.  These women recognised BPW Franklin's ability to be a collective group and contribute to the governing body of the organisation to affect policy changes at club, national and international level, and have a voice in BPW NZ's submissions to New Zealand's government.

At BPW Franklin, women from all walks and stages of their lives, come to meet once a month.  To socialise, participate in a club meeting and listen to speakers that cover a range of topics, discuss issues and network.  Some members enjoy the monthly social interaction, for others it is about strengthening their network and future business opportunities.  There are also members who wish to become more involved in the national arena to develop their skills and to have a voice in making a difference for women and their families.
